Wolves transfer news: Jose Sa could replace Rui Patricio at Molineux

Rui Patricio is a £10 million target for AS Roma, and Wolverhampton Wanderers could apparently replace him with Olympiacos stopper Jose Sa.

The former Sporting CP star has been heavily linked with an exit from Molineux over the past few weeks.

The 33-year-old has clocked up 127 appearances in Old Gold so far.

But it seems his spell in the Black Country could soon be coming to an end.

According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Patricio could depart and Wolves want €12 million (£10.3 million).

He then adds that Portuguese goalkeeper Sa could be his replacement.

Sa has been with Olympiacos since the summer of 2018, joining on loan at first from FC Porto.

The 28-year-old has clocked up 124 appearances for his current club, and kept a pretty respectable 62 clean sheets.

He is currently a league champion, with Olympiacos winning the Greek Super League by 26 points in 2020/21.

A risk from Wolves

Wolves cashing in on Patricio and replacing him with Sa would be a big risk.

Patricio did suffer a slight dip in 2020/21, but remains a top goalkeeper.

That said, Wolves were actually linked with Sa before Patricio signed from Sporting in 2018.

That would suggest he’s a player who’s long been on their radar, and perhaps officials feel he is the right man to succeed his fellow countryman at Molineux.
