Wolves transfer news: Liverpool interested in Max Kilman

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Wolves defender Max Kilman.

CBS journalist Ben Jacobs believes the Reds are keen on the 25-year-old central defender, who has also apparently been on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar recently.

It has been a tough season for Liverpool so far in 2022/23.

Currently the Reds are seventh in the Premier League table and have a lot of work to do to make the top four.

Their struggles have mainly been defensively.

Virgil van Dijk has not been at his best level this season. Ditto the likes of Joe Gomes and Joel Matip.

There has also been a lot of criticism of their midfield.

Jacobs has reported that Liverpool are looking to bolster their squad next season, and see Kilman as a potential signing.

He said (Caught Offside): “I am also told Liverpool, like Spurs, would consider Wolves’ Max Kilman. You could make an argument Liverpool need a left and right-sided centre-back even if both don’t play instantly together as a new first-choice pairing in 2023/24.

Kilman is actually the third Wolves player to have been linked with Liverpool this calendar year.

At the start of January, Matheus Nunes was linked with a move Anfield.

A couple of weeks later, it was claimed Liverpool want to sign Ruben Neves, who’ll only have one year left on his contract this summer.

It seems Liverpool are quite the fans of Wolves’ squad.

It’s no real surprise to read a link to Kilman. They’ve been a bit all over the place at the back this season and do need reinforcements.

Kilman hasn’t quite been at his best level for Wolves this season. But he’s still a top quality Premier League defender. and this season, he’s actually played every single minute so far in the league.

Wanderers cannot be entertaining interest in him in the summer.

He’s still got plenty of room to develop, and he could well reach new levels playing next to an experienced player like Craig Dawson.
