Wolves transfer news: Journalist claims three Championship clubs showing loan interest in Ryan Giles

Wolves have only just recalled Ryan Giles, but three Championship clubs are reportedly keen on taking him on loan.

The club decided to end his spell with Cardiff City early, with the player returning to Compton Park a week ago.

Wolves have a small squad, and so the 21-year-old was recalled to provide a bit of cover.

He made the bench for yesterday’s FA Cup game with Sheffield United, which Wolves on 3-0.

But Giles didn’t get on, with Bruno Lage playing Rayan Ait-Nouri at left wing-back.

It was another fine performance from the Frenchman, who provided the assist for Nelson Semedo on the second goal.

Prior to his recall, Giles had been having a really productive season with Cardiff.

He made 21 appearances for the club, and contributed nine assists for the Bluebirds – a highly impressive return.

After failing to get any minutes yesterday, talkSPORT journalist then tweeted about Giles.

According to him, there are currently three Championship clubs on his tail.

Swansea City, QPR and Hull City have all expressed interest in the youngster.

This claim comes after a report from The Athletic stated that Giles and also Dion Sanderson could yet both head back out on loan again.

If neither pull on the Wolves shirt this month, it could be that the club decide to let them go out again.

There is apparently the possibility for them to return to Cardiff and Birmingham City.

If they don’t feature for Wolves, it is also possible the pair could play for different clubs due to the rule of only being able to play for two clubs in a season.

Ryan Giles needs to play as much as possible, amid talk of another loan

Wolves need to take a decision that results in Giles playing regular football.

He was flourishing for Cardiff before his recall, and it was a bit of a shame really that he couldn’t finish the season there.

Hopefully there is not a situation whereby he ends up warming the bench at Molineux for the rest of 2021/22.

It is quite possible he could head back out. Romain Saiss will be back in a couple of weeks, meaning Fernando Marcal can become an option at left wing-back again.

Then next month, Pedro Neto and Hwang Hee-chan should be back available again. Both can operate as left wingers, another position Giles can play in.

Lage spoke warmly of Giles after his recall, saying ‘he can play as an outside winger, he assists very well, he’s done a good week with us’.
