Wolves transfer target Goncalo Guedes has commented on his future, amid speculation linking him with a move to Molineux.
The Valencia star could potentially be on the move this summer.
Guedes is someone who is apparently on Wanderers’ radar.
The Telegraph reported in April that the club would prioritise a move for the Portugal international, who was on the scoresheet for his country last night in the 2-0 win over Czech Republic in the Nations League.
He is someone who has been linked with Wolves for quite a while, and it will be interesting to see if Wolves do make a move this summer.
He would make a pretty good addition, with Wolves needing extra firepower. Guedes helped himself to 13 goals across all competitions last term, playing in multiple positions up top.
But what are the chances of Guedes departing?
The player spoke about his future after the win over Czech Republic. Asked if he could leave Spain, he said (quoted by Estadio Deportivo): “I don’t know right now.
“I have a contract for two more years, and I have to fulfil it. If there is a situation that is better for Valencia and for me, we have to think about it. But the future will tell.”
New Valencia boss Gennaro Gattuso said recently (Plaza Deportivo) that he would be speaking to the club’s owner Peter Lim about players with only one year left in their contract.
Guedes is one such player, so it’s possible Wolves’ luck could be in.
Wolves must test Valencia’s resolve over Guedes amid need for fresh impetus, as star comments on his future
Wolves should definitely be looking to test Valencia’s resolve over Guedes this summer.
The star had a fine season for Valencia and was one of their standout players along with Carlos Soler.
Guedes’ versatility could make him come in very handy.
He could potentially partner Raul Jimenez, or support him from out wide, just like Diogo Jota used to.
With Adama Traore and Francisco Trincao both unlikely to be at Molineux next term, he seems like a great player to bring in.
