Wolverhampton Wanderers are facing competition for Joao Palhinha in the form of Atalanta.
The Serie A club are reported by A Bola to have joined the hunt for Sporting CP player.

Apparently, they plan to make a move for the Portuguese star, who caught the eye at Euro 2020.
Palhinha is a player that has been heavily linked with Wolves in recent weeks.
It was reported last month that the club see him as a priority signing.
He has also been linked with Leicester City.
Last term, Palhinha was instrumental for Sporting in their surge to the Portuguese league title.

He made 32 league appearances and a further six in the cup competitions.
Atalanta’s interest in the player would be a blow for Wolves.
The Italian side are able to offer the player Champions League football, and have been a rising team in recent times under Gian Piero Gasperini.
Atalanta interest is a problem
Wolves need to get a deal for Palhinha – valued at around £26 million – done this summer.
Quite simply, he would transform Bruno Lage’s midfield.
He was excellent in his two games at the Euros and could make a world of difference and add some much needed steel.
Atalanta coming to the table is not good news.

They are fast becoming a very attractive prospect for players, and their status as a Champions League club will no doubt be a lure.
Gasperini has a good track record for developing players and so, Wolves need to get to work.
