Wolves transfer news: Adama Traore still on Tottenham transfer radar

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly still want to sign Wolves star Adama Traore.

Nuno Espirito Santo may no longer be prowling the touchline for Spurs, but it seems the Spaniard is still very much of interest.

The Telegraph say Antonio Conte is due to speak to Fabio Paratici about January transfers. And supposedly, Traore remains on the club’s radar.

Traore has recently come back into the Wolves starting XI after several games on the bench.

The former Barcelona youngster didn’t start any of Wolves’ four Premier League matches in November, coming off the bench in three of them.

He returned to the side against Burnley and looked dangerous.

After impressing at Molineux, he has since started every game.

It is going to be very interesting to see what happens in a few weeks with Traore.

He still hasn’t signed a new contract with the club.

Bruno Lage stated he wishes to keep the group together. But one wonders if Fosun will have other ideas if Traore isn’t planning to extend.

It remains to be seen if Conte and Spurs will come in and apply the pressure.

Tottenham to test Wolves’ resolve over Adama Traore?

Nuno may be gone, but it seems like Tottenham are still eyeing Traore.

Conte supposedly wanted to sign the player while he was Chelsea manager back in 2017, when Traore was still at Middlesbrough.

Some have suggested Conte sees Traore as his next Victor Moses. The Italian had a transformative impact on the Nigerian winger, converting him into an effective wing-back at Stamford Bridge.

It will be fascinating to see how this plays out.

Lage, who branded the star ‘very dangerous’ and some who ‘can do something special’ last month, clearly doesn’t want to lose Traore. But the situation with his contract makes things awkward.

Wolves need to get a good gauge on how likely he is to extend. It would be a real risk to press on without selling, only for Traore to remain non-committal. His value would obviously plummet.
