Wolves to green-light Jackson Tchatchoua exit as asking price emerges

Jackson Tchatchoua could be on his way out of Wolves after just one season, with a number of clubs on his tail.

The Cameroon international was one of six additions last summer, and he was brought in as the replacement for Nelson Semedo, who left when his contract expired.

Jackson Tchatchoua wasn’t Wolves’ first-choice target.

Who do you think has been the worst signing Wolves made in the 2025 summer window? 🤔

Krejci and Moller Wolfe surely aren't in the mix…

Wolves had wanted Marc Pubill, but lost out when Atletico Madrid stole in.

Tchatchoua arrived and unfortunately, he has fallen well short of the standards expected, and has been a significant downgrade on Semedo.

And now, with Wolves ready to rebuild after relegation, Tchatchoua is set to depart.

Wolves could actually sell Jackson Tchatchoua for a profit

Sports Boom have reported that Wolves have now given the green light to sell Tchatchoua – and there are a few clubs in the mix to sign him.

It appears a move back to Italy is the most likely outcome, with Bologna currently leading the race. It’s thought that despite his poor season with Wolves, Tchatchoua still has a decent reputation back in Italy

But there is also interest from Real Betis and Villarreal in Spain, and Rennes and Marseille in France.

There are even some eyes on him from the Premier League, with Brentford, Fulham, and Crystal Palace all mentioned.

Palace, of course, have already signed one player from Wolves this year, landing Jorgen Stand Larsen in a deal worth nearly £50 million.

Matt Hobbs is the sporting director there, so it’s possible we’ll be reading a lot about Palace having interest in Wolves players this summer.

It’s stated that Wolves’ asking price for Tchatchoua is around £13 million, which would see the club make around £3 million profit on him.

It’s also stated in the article that Tchatchoua has ‘informed the board that he wishes to continue his career in Europe’s top 5 leagues rather than taking part in the tough and long marathon of the Championship’.

Profit on Tchatchoua would be a miracle

If Wolves somehow end up selling Tchatchoua for more than they bought him, then that really would be some going.

Because it really has been a signing that hasn’t worked out at all.

There was genuine hype for Tchatchoua when he arrived, mainly due to his tag of being the fastest player in Serie A last season. With Semedo having left, fans were pleased that another fast player was coming in.

But unfortunately, Tchatchoua has shown that he is way below the level of Semedo.

He has continually looked frightened to take his opponent on, which is just baffling considering how fast he is.

And in the situations where he actually does get into advanced areas, more often than not the final ball is poor. Just two assists is a disappointing return for a wing-back.

Tchatchoua has also often been sloppy on the ball, as evidenced by a pass accuracy of just 76% in the Premier League this season (via Squawka).

With the season that Wolves have had and his own contributions, he will unfortunately go down as one of the worst signings of the Fosun reign.
