He had a fine loan spell with Huesca last term, where he scored 16 goals in all competitions.

He couldn’t keep the club up, but his stint was deemed extremely successful.

Mir then went to the Tokyo Olympics with Spain and caught the eye again, scoring a hat-trick against the Ivory Coast.

Atletico Madrid have had the most mentions of late, but it seems they could now be moving for Dusan Vlahovic.

It was recently reported that Mir was due for talks with Bruno Lage, who said he needed to determine where the player’s head was at (Express & Star).

The pair may well have had a chat by now, and it remains to be seen what happens.

Today though, Wolves released images of Mir having participated in a training session at Compton Park.

Whether this means he could now be set to stay, is anyone’s guess at this stage.

After all, the player is into the final year of his contract which perhaps puts the club under pressure to sell.
