Wolves have reportedly made an enquiry about Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike, as Gary O’Neil seeks to land a new number nine this month.
It has been suggested a few times now that O’Neil is very keen to sign a centre-forward.
The loan departure of Fabio Silva increases the need, and it could be that Sasa Kalajdzic also leaves Molineux this month after a lack of minutes – the Austrian has been linked with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Wolves don’t have a lot of money to spend this month as they continue to be mindful of the Profit and Sustainability rules. It’s thought cut-price deals and loans will be the way.
Now, it has been claimed that Wolves are interested in Hugo Ekitike, who is a player that has been linked before…
Wolves reportedly enquire about PSG striker Hugo Ekitike

It has been reported today by RMC Sport that Wolves have now made contact with PSG over striker Ekitike.
Ekitike has played just eight minutes in Ligue 1 this season and the French giants could now loan him out for the rest of the campaign.
A loan with option to buy would be ‘favoured’ for Ekitike, it is claimed.
Despite his struggles at PSG, Ekitike remains highly rated abroad, and it is suggested that Wolves are ready to welcome him for the second half of the season.
Wolves, of course, signed Ekitike’s old teammate Pablo Sarabia from PSG a year ago, and it is stated that there is a good relationship between the two clubs.
But Wolves may not have it straightforward – apparently, Eintracht Frankfurt and Wolfsburg are also showing interest.
Ekitike would be a risk for Wolves
Ekitike is a player Wolves have seemingly had on their radar for a while. The club were linked with him in 2022 and then even late last summer.
O’Neil wants a new centre-forward and it will be very interesting if Ekitike is a player he’ll want to go for.
Ekitike, 21, is a player with big potential. But it really hasn’t happened for him at the Parc des Prince – he has scored just four goals in 33 appearances, and has not really kicked on from his time at Reims.
The £80,000-a-week man is not in favor with Luis Enrique right now and a loan move this month does seem likely – but this could be a risk for Wolves.
He has no form or momentum whatsoever, and Wolves really need someone who can come in and hit the ground running. It’s very questionable as to whether Ekitike would be able to do that in a new league having played so little football this term.
