Wolves have £18 million bid rejected for English star, they now won’t be signing him

Wolves reportedly made a transfer bid of £18 million to sign Alex Scott, which was rejected by Bristol City.

The attacking midfielder is one of the most sought after players in the Championship this summer.

Scott, 19, starred for the Robins last term, regularly catching the eye with his fantastic technical quality.

He is on the radar of many clubs in England, with Wanderers having taken an interest in him since January.

Wolves held talks with Bristol City but were put off by the reported £25 million asking price.

It is now being claimed that Wolves have actually bid for Scott, but it’s not good news for Wolves fans hoping he will sign.

According to the Bristol Post, Bournemouth have actually just failed with a £15 million bid for Scott.

But before that, Wolves sent one worth £18 million.

It was rejected by the Robins, and it is thought that Wolves will not be making any further bids.

talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook reported this morning that Wanderers are actually now fully out of the race for the talented teenager.

Bournemouth are expected to make a fresh £20 million bid, according to the Bristol Post.

Blow for Wolves

This news will no doubt be disappointing for a lot of Wolves fans.

Scott is a player who has long been linked with a move to Molineux and many have been hoping he’d make a move to the club this summer.

Earlier this year, it was suggested that Scott liked the idea of moving to Wolves.

It was also claimed that Julen Lopetegui absolutely loves the player.

But it looks as though Wolves’ financial situation means they will not be able to afford the talented young Englishman.

It is a great shame. Because Scott looks the real deal and he would make a cracking addition for any Premier League side this summer.
