AS Roma have already poached one player from Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer in Rui Patricio.
And it appears they are now targeting another Molineux star.
Calciomercato are reporting that Jonny Castro Otto is someone they have looked at signing.
Roma, of course, are heading into the new season without Leonardo Spinazzola.
The rampaging full-back ruptured his achilles for Italy against Belgium at Euro 2020, and faces months on the sidelines.
At the moment, Jonny himself is out of action.
The star returned to the Wolves starting XI back in February after injuring his ACL.
But he would then suffer another serious knee injury in training only a couple of months after his return.
He will miss the start of 2021/22.
A move to Roma would, therefore, surely be unlikely. At least during this current transfer window.
It’s also worth noting that, before suffering his latest setback, Jonny signed a new contract at Molineux, keeping him tied to the club until 2025.
On social media, some Wolves fans have been reacting to the claim.
While lots of people love Jonny, the reaction is somewhat mixed. Some have questioned whether he should be retained given the two serious injuries he has had:
£40million and they can have him

If we can get £30m for him I would take it- he may never come back the same!

As much as he’s an incredible defender, to spend 10’s of millions on someone who is recovering from a second consecutive ACL injury would be seriously daft. He’ll probably be back to 100% one day, but that’s a huge risk https://t.co/f974VDVXAV

Solid player but won’t be the same after injuries now, cash in on him whilst he’s still worth abit https://t.co/8vZDGFP7Ro

Why would anyone want Jonny gone?! He’s a brilliant player and defender especially.
