Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Bruno Lage has said he thinks Adama Traore will stay at the club.

The transfer window closes next week, and speculation has been rife about the Spaniard’s future.

Fabrizio Romano said on his Here We Go podcast this week that there is no agreement between the two clubs.

Following last night’s thumping 4-0 EFL Cup victory over Nottingham Forest, Lage got asked about Traore.

When asked if Traore would still be wearing Old Gold come the end of the month, he said (Express & Star): “Yeah, I think so.

“We want to create a strong team and to be competitive, that’s why we need to be competitive first inside to create this dynamic.”

That feels like a significant part of this saga, as the window nears its end.

Traore is very clearly one of Wolves’ best players, and always carries a threat even if the end product sometimes lets him down.


It’s important for Wolves to keep their best performers if they are to get back on track.
