Rodrigo Gomes has made a suggestion about his future, with Wolves’ season about to end.
The Old Gold have just one game left to play against Burnley on Sunday, and for many fans there will be feelings of relief.
It has been a horrible season, that has culminated in relegation from the top-flight after an eight-year stay.
Should any of these NOT be on this list? And are there any who aren’t there who SHOULD be on? 🤔
The Athletic have claimed Wolves would like these nine players to stay after relegation…
All eyes are on the powers that be at Wolves and what they will do this summer to help get the club back into the top-flight at the first time of asking.
Strong player recruitment will be absolutely paramount. We’ve already seen links to the likes of Raul Jimenez and Kieran Trippier.
But player retention will also be important. Despite many underperforming in 2025/26, there are some players worth keeping.
One such player is Rodrigo Gomes, who has potentially dropped a hint about his future.
Rodrigo Gomes ready to stay at Wolves
Rodrigo is a popular player, with many fans appreciating the lively way in which he plays.
He runs all day, and is also an attacking threat.
A few days ago, Rob Edwards spoke about Rodrigo and had suggested the winger would be sticking around. He said: “He’s always full of endeavour and commitment.
“He’s a young player and still has loads to learn and work on, but that desire and enthusiasm to run and to fight is there from him.

“We’re pleased with his work and his day-to-day. The exciting thing with him is I think there’s a lot more to come.
“Yes, why not? Yes, of course, I don’t see it any other way.”
And now, Rodrigo himself has strongly suggested that he’ll be going nowhere this summer.
He told the club’s official website: “Next season is going to be exciting because this season was not good for the club, and for me as well. I had a big injury, I didn’t play for a while, but I’m feeling good now.
“Like I said before, the club is very big and I know we’re going to do everything to come back as fast as possible, and if the club believes in me and if I stay, I will do everything to help the team come back up.”
Yerson Mosquera made a similar suggestion recently, and just yesterday quotes from David Moller Wolfe emerged to strongly hint he will also be sticking around.

Rodrigo has been attracting transfer interest from Premier League clubs amid Wolves’ relegation, but this could now be immaterial after comments from both the manager and the player.
That said, clubs could still come calling to try and test Wolves’ resolve.
But certainly now, everything is pointing towards him sticking around – and Rodrigo could be a key player for Wolves next season in the Championship.
