AC Milan striker Rafael Leao was linked with a move to Wolves earlier this year, but the star has now apparently caught the attention of Pep Guardiola and Manchester City.

Leao has enjoyed a good season so far with the Italian giants.

The Rossoneri currently sit top of Serie A, and Leao has made 19 appearances across all competitions.

He has scored five goals and made three assists so far. He is proving a valuable asset for manager Stefano Pioli.

His performances have apparently led to interest from City boss Guardiola, who is ready to make a move should Milan fail to sort out a contract extension for him.

Leao is a player that was reportedly on Wolves’ radar previously.

Back in June, Calciomercato reported the player could leave Milan amid interest from Wolves.

In the end he remained, despite the arrival of Olivier Giroud.

He has been one of Milan’s best players so far in 2021/22. If Wolves had any intentions of reigniting their past interest, then a deal may be tricky to pull off.

Wolves could struggle to land Rafael Leao with Manchester City now reportedly sniffing

Wolves officials have reportedly had internal discussions about a potential loan move for Fabio Silva. The teenager has been struggling for minutes this season.

But that would only happen if another striker was coming in.

That incoming striker is probably unlikely to be Leao if Manchester City are keen.

The Citizens could lose Ferran Torres, so Guardiola could have even more of a pressing need for a striker if the Spaniard departed.

If there is any truth in this development, the chances of Leao finally turning out in old gold are surely very, very slim.
