Long-term Wolverhampton Wanderers target William Carvalho could be heading for the Premier League.
Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has claimed Norwich City are interested in signing the experienced Portugal international, as the transfer window nears its end.
The Canaries are currently bottom of the Premier League after two rounds of fixtures.
Clearly, they recognise that they need to strengthen in order to stay in the division come May next year.
Them being in talks with Carvalho is very interesting.
The midfield enforcer is currently down in the pecking order at Real Betis, and has struggled with injuries in recent times.
Carvalho is actually a long-term target of Wolves.
The club were apparently looking at signing him back in January.
A few months later, there was a report claiming Carvalho was likely to leave Betis this summer, with Wolves supposedly having an ‘everlasting’ interest.
And El Desmarque claimed in July that Carvalho’s asking price had been dropped to around £8.5 million.
Wolves to make late rival approach?
Carvalho would be a really good addition for Norwich.
He’d also potentially be a decent signing for Wolves, who obviously have a large Portuguese contingent at the club.
Wolves still need another midfield option, so one wonders if Carvalho having talks with Norwich will pique their interest.
Perhaps it indicates the player’s willingness to come and play in England and as such, Wolves will look to finally act on their ‘long-standing’ interest.
