Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly made an enquiry about the availability of Real Betis midfielder William Carvalho.
Estadio Deportivo have today claimed that Wolves have an interest in the 28-year-old and that contact was re-established between the two clubs recently.

The report explains how the club were unable to present a suitable offer to Betis having exhausted most of their resources for the month on the signing of Willian Jose on loan from Real Sociedad.
Wolves would have returned for 63-cap Portugal international Carvalho, but felt the urgent need to bring in Jose as cover for the recuperating Raul Jimenez.
Ultimately no serious approach could be made for Carvalho, and it is highly unlikely there will be anything happening in the remaining hours of today’s transfer deadline.

It could be that Wolves look to move for Carvalho in the summer.
Estadio Deportivo add that Wolves would be one such preference for the player, who knows of the strong Portuguese contingent already at the club.
Carvalho should be monitored
Wolves won’t be landing the star today, but he’s a player the club should definitely look to keep an eye on.

It is not out of the question that Ruben Neves could leave in the summer, and Joao Moutinho’s best days look to be past him now.
Owen Otasowie is still very young and so there could well be scope for a new midfield enforcer at Molineux later this year.
