Birmingham City boss Lee Bowyer says he is hopeful of concluding a loan deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers defender soon.
His words come after reports earlier in the week that the Blues were keen to land both him and Matija Sarkic.
Judging by Bowyer’s comments, it sounds like a deal is imminent.
He said today (quoted by Sunderland Echo): “We’re hoping that that [Sanderson deal] will get done soon.
“Something has been agreed but he’s just coming back from an injury, so we’re just making sure everything is right on the medical side of things.
“I don’t think there’s any problems and it’s just a matter of time I think.”
A good move for Sanderson
So it seems confirmation isn’t too far away for Sanderson’s proposed move to Birmingham.
It’s a good next step for him.
He excelled last term in League One with Sunderland, so it makes sense for him to now go to the Championship.
He did have half a season with Cardiff City in 2019/20, but this time he’s more mature and will be in the division from the start.
Should he fare well, he surely has to be in with a chance of playing for the Wolves first-team.
