Joao Moutinho is technically still a Wolves player, but the maestro is leaving Molineux as already confirmed by the club.
His contract expires at the end of the month, and the star will not be getting another new deal, as he did this time last year.
Moutinho racked up 212 appearances for Wolves in all competitions.
That is some return, considering he arrived at the club as a 31-year-old.
Moutinho wasn’t involved in Wolves’ final two Premier League games of the season and he therefore didn’t say a proper goodbye, which is a shame.
But most Wolves fans are wishing Moutinho well ahead of his next chapter… and it looks like we may now know where he’ll head next.
Joao Moutinho set for reunion with Nuno Espirito Santo in Saudi Arabia
Moutinho now appears to be bound for Saudi Arabia.
According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 36-year-old is a target for Nuno Espirito Santo, who manages Al-Ittihad.

Romano tweeted: “More on João Moutinho and Saudi. Been told the club busy trying to sign him is Al-Ittihad – as Nuno knows João so well. #Saudi He’d like to have Moutinho and Kanté in the midfield… behind Karim Benzema.”
Prior to this update, Romano had said that Moutinho has multiple options right now.
Recently, a couple of other players have also been linked with a move to Saudi.
Adama Traore was linked with a reunion with Nuno.
And it was also suggested that Raul Jimenez has offers on the table from Saudi clubs.
Joao Moutinho to Al-Ittihad makes an awful lot of sense, as Nuno Espirito Santo eyes reunion
It would be no surprise if this particular move comes to fruition.
Moutinho will be 37 in a few months and does not have much time left in the game now.
It is the right decision by Wolves to allow him to move on as a free agent, and a move to the Saudi Pro League would be a good move for him at this stage of his career.

He obviously knows Nuno very well, and Al-Ittihad have just won the league so he would be joining a competitive outfit.
He would also be playing alongside Kante and Benzema, which would certainly be nice.
And of course, he would likely received a very good financial package as a big name moving over to boost the profile of the league.
