He made just 20 appearances for Wanderers across all competitions in 2022/23. He struggled to play due to a combination of fitness problems and being out of favour with Julen Lopetegui.

Jimenez barely featured in the final two months of the season.

Lopetegui kept playing Diego Costa, with Matheus Cunha usually supporting him.

Jimenez missed a string of matchday squads.

Foe the final home game of the season against Everton, Lopetegui had Jimenez on the the bench. But he did not give him any minutes, which really annoyed a lot of supporters.

Jimenez was then seen in tears as he acknowledged the crowd after the game.

So Jimenez staying at Molineux to see out the final year of his contract doesn’t feel particularly likely. It has been reported he wants to depart.

And TV Azteca now report that the player has offers from clubs in the Saudi Pro League.

He would be able to earn much more than the £100,000-a-week he currently takes home at Wolves.

And it’s stated he could potentially like the idea of competing against, or even with, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, who has just joined Al-Ittihad.

It is then stated that Jimenez’s agent Jorge Mendes has ‘very serious contacts with the MLS’.

Raul Jimenez may be tempted by Saudi cash, but the Wolves star may also want to stay in Europe

Jimenez may well be tempted by a potential move to Saudi Arabia.

The reported earnings of Ronaldo, Benzema and Kante are absolutely obsence, and Jimenez probably couldn’t be blamed for wanting a slice.

But Jimenez could also seek a club in Europe. It was reported that his priority was to play in a top five league.

Jimenez has just had a really frustrating season. It might be that he wants to move away from Molineux and join a club top prove that he isn’t ‘finished’.

It remains to be seen what will happen. But he’ll surely be an outgoing at Wolves, even if Lopetegui did say he wants him to stay.
