The general manager of FC Cincinnati Chris Albright has spoken of his delight at signing Yerson Mosquera on loan from Wolves.
Wanderers have now confirmed that the centre-back has joined the MLS club to try and get some more minutes under his belt.
Mosquera has not featured for Wolves’ first-team this season.
He has been stuck behind Nathan Collins, Maximilian Kilman and Toti Gomes in the pecking order.
In the game against Manchester City Molineux earlier this season, Mosquera was stripped and ready to come on for his Premier League debut. But it didn’t end up happening.
Craig Dawson has now come in, meaning Wolves were able to get Mosquera out on loan.
The Colombian has now joined FC Cincinnati, with strategic player manager Matt Jackson confirming Wolves want Mosquera to improve his English as well as play regularly there.
Today, Cincinnati confirmed the move on their website, and they published comments from their general manager Albright about the deal.
He is elated with the signing. He said: “Yerson is a tremendously talented young player that has a real desire to defend. His size, pace and technical ability will be a great fit for our group, and we’re delighted to welcome him to the club.”
Time for Yerson Mosquera to prove himself to Wolves with Cincinnati loan, as Chris Albright expresses delight
So Mosquera now has the loan move Wolves wanted him to have at the start of 2022/23.
The youngster had reportedly been lined up to join Troyes over in France. But the failed Dawson move meant that it couldn’t happen in the end.
Mosquera now has the chance to play regular football.
Albright sounds extremely happy to have signed the Colombian and you would think he’ll be getting lots of chances.
It’ll be great if Mosquera can not only play a lot of games, but really improve his English too, with Wolves setting him that task.
