Wolves will be hopeful of retaining the majority of the squad from 2023/24 however, a Premier League club isn’t giving up their pursuit of one target.
It’s been an encouraging start to the summer transfer window for Wolves, as Gary O’Neil got to work fast at bolstering his squad.
The manager navigated his way through last season with limited depth in his side, with four players already acquired ahead of 2024/25.
Despite the delight of signing Tommy Doyle, Pedro Lima, Rodrigo Gomes and Jorgen Strand Larsen, O’Neil will remain focused on retaining most of his side from last term, something that may prove to be difficult.

Arsenal make improved offer for Wolves goalkeeper Dan Bentley
It’s become apparent that Arsenal are eager to sign Dan Bentley this summer, as the Gunners get to work at assessing their goalkeeper options.
While Mikel Arteta’s side want to secure Bentley’s signature, Wolves are yet to have their valuation of the 31-year-old met although, things could soon change.
The Old Gold are already reported to have turned down an opening offer from Arsenal, with The Athletic reporting last week that the Midlands club would only sell if a ‘suitable proposal’ was presented.
Now, the North Londoners are expected to come in with an improved offer, as reported by journalist Alan Nixon.
Nixon reported that Arsenal have ‘made a new bid’ for Bentley in the region of £300,000, which despite being lower than Wolves’ £1m asking price, could be enough to lure the Englishman from Molineux.
Nixon stated that Arsenal and Wolves are ‘now closer to a compromise’ on price, as Arteta plans to seal a deal this summer.
Bentley spent time in Arsenal’s academy before joining Southend in 2009 and could now be close to returning to North London in a surprise move.
Bentley transfer to Arsenal now looks likely
It doesn’t seem as though Arsenal are going to give up their fight to sign Bentley, who made seven appearances for O’Neil’s side last season.
Acting as a number two to Jose Sa, the Englishman secured five appearances in the Premier League in 2023/24, which came after he impressed at the end of the 2022/23 campaign against Manchester United.
During the fixture, Bentley was lauded as “outstanding” for his role between the sticks at Old Trafford, telling of his value to O’Neil’s side when called upon.
Being a back-up ‘keeper is never an easy scenario for a player, with Sa Wolves’ firm number one going into next term.
Bentley’s claim to game time could be limited even further at the Emirates as Arsenal face a goalkeeper squabble of their own although, it looks as though a deal will soon be struck.
The Englishman was in action on Saturday afternoon against Bristol City as his year and a half stay at Molineux looks to be moving towards a close.
