Wolves are taking on Norwich City this weekend in the Premier League – and Daniel Podence has surely earned the right to start in Norfolk.

The 26-year-old was something of a surprise inclusion against West Ham United.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

It was only his second Premier League start of the season against the Hammers.

Bruno Lage has mainly turned to Adama Traore and Francisco Trincao on that right side.

But he gave Podence a chance, and the star certainly took his opportunity.

He was instrumental in Wolves picking up three huge points at Molineux.

It was his superb ball across which Raul Jimenez converted, and his overall performance was good.

The impact he made earned him some praise from Alan Shearer on Match of the Day. The Newcastle United legend described the forward as ‘a bright spark’.

Some Wolves fans also heaped praise on him after the game on social media.

He was lively, and given his contributions, he surely has to keep his place against the Canaries on Saturday.

Podence deserves another start against Norwich

Podence should keep his place in the starting XI against Norwich this weekend.

For Lage to put him back on the bench would probably send out the wrong message.

He delivered against West Ham, and has the potential to cause real damage to a side that has shipped 27 goals so far – the joint-most along with Newcastle.

He has seemingly been sharp in training lately, and one gets the feeling that Podence is raring to go ahead of a busy time of the season.
