Wolverhampton Wanderers may have received a boost to their pursuit of James Tarkowski.
A centre-half with experience is on the agenda for Wolves, following the addition of youngster Yerson Mosquera last week.
Tarkowski certainly falls into the category, having been with Burnley since 2016.
He’s about the enter the final year of his contract at Turf Moor.
His situation is therefore worth keeping an eye on.
It seems as though Burnley are actually preparing for life without the 28-year-old.
It’s been reported by The Athletic that Nathan Collins is set to move to Burnley.
There is also interest from the Clarets in Liverpool star Nat Phillips.
Wolves should step up their interest
The same report claims Burnley want to hold on to Tarkowski until the end of his contract.
But the situation could well change if a suitable offer was made.
One gets the feeling that offers will indeed be forthcoming for Tarkowski, who is a proven performer at Premier League level.
And if Burnley are bringing in Collins and Phillips, perhaps their stance over Tarkowski would soften.
In which case, Wolves need to be there at the front of the queue – many fans certainly want him signed.
