Wolves next manager latest: Michael Beale rejects Wolves

Michael Beale has reportedly decided to reject Wolves.

According to The Telegraph, the 42-year-old has decided to turn down the opportunity to succeed Bruno Lage at Molineux.

Wolves had earlier this morning requested permission from QPR to speak to the English coach.

But just a short time later, it is now being reported that Beale doesn’t want to take the job.

It follows him overseeing a 3-0 win for QPR last night over Cardiff City, which took the club to the top of the Championship.

It is a big blow for Wolves, who already failed to bring in Julen Lopetegui. The Spaniard rejected Wolves’ offer in order to be with his family.

The club must now go back to the drawing boards.

In recent days, there have been links to Dutch manager Peter Bosz.

But it was claimed yesterday that not all members of the Wolves hierarchy were convinced by the former Borussia Dortmund boss.

And then of course, there have been links to old manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

Nuno is thought to be open to the idea of coming back to Molineux. But the compensation Wolves would have to pay Al Ittihad would be much greater than the £1 million release clause for Beale.

A hammer blow for Wolves, who’d set their sights on Beale

There was always a chance this could happen. Thankfully, it has happened relatively early on Thursday and the club can now move on quickly.

Beale’s decision is understandable.

He’s done a great job so far at Loftus Road and has got the team top of the league.

He’s only been in the job for a few months and perhaps feels it’s not right for him to be jumping ship so soon, especially given he is still relatively inexperienced.
