Previous Wolves transfer target Goncalo Guedes produced arguably his best display of the season yesterday.
The ace lined up for Valencia against Levante for his 18th appearance of the season.
Guedes was a real livewire in the game. He was on the scoresheet twice, and also provided an assist in the 4-3 win.
Levante were actually 2-0 up. But Guedes then struck a fierce effort from the edge of the box into the far corner with his left foot.
Carlos Soler then levelled from the spot, before firing Valencia ahead after being slipped in with a lovely through ball by Guedes.
Guedes then added a fourth. As he collected the a through ball, he cut back inside to sit the defender and goalkeeper down, giving him an easy finish.
It was a really solid performance from the 25-year-old, who took his tally to six goals and four assists for the season.
Guedes, of course, was heavily linked with Wolves during the last transfer window.
There was a claim that Wolves were ready to bid for the player, but it was never forthcoming in the end.
Given the contract situation with Adama Traore, there is a possibility that Wolves could come calling in January for Guedes.
Goncalo Guedes worth keeping an eye on amid Adama Traore uncertainty
It will be interesting to see if Wolves make a move for Guedes in January.
The player was heavily linked towards the end of the last window.
If Traore does leave the club next month, he could well be someone Wolves turn to.
Bruno Lage wants to keep his squad together and add to it rather than take away.
But Fosun will not want to see Traore head into the final year of his contract. That would mean selling for much less than his true value.
It is not out of the question the board will offload him if there is a suitable offer
