Wolves fans want Daniel Podence to start against Manchester City

Wolves take on Manchester City on Saturday in the Premier League – and some fans want to see Daniel Podence start against the league leaders.

Pep Guardiola’s side are the reigning champions, and have star quality all over the pitch and on the bench.

But, perhaps in a small boost for Wolves, they did lose last night in the Champions League to RB Leipzig.

That may well give the Wolves players some confidence.

That said, that disappointing result could well light a fire beneath the City on Saturday.

One would imagine the game plan for Wolves will be the same as against Liverpool. City are going to have most of the ball, so counter-attacking will be the likely tactic.

Adama Traore is probably going to start the game given his past couple of performances and also the fact he has given City problems in the past.

Raul Jimenez’s place in the team is pretty nailed-on, but Bruno Lage may be considering freshening things up with Hwang Hee-chan.

The South Korean star has not scored now in six matches, and has seen his form dip slightly. He may be in need of a rest.

Wolves fans want Lage to start Daniel Podence against Manchester City

On social media, supporters have expressed their desire to see Daniel Podence thrown in from the start against Manchester City.

The forward recently tested positive for Covid-19. That forced him to miss the games with Norwich City and Burnley.

He was back on the bench against Liverpool, but had not been able to train ahead of the clash, so didn’t make an appearance.

Podence was really good against West Ham United and fans have seemingly not forgotten that display.

With Hwang proving a little ineffective in recent weeks, some feel it is the right time for Podence to be restored.

Here’s what some people have said, with some actually believing Podence has dropped a hint after writing the one-word message ‘Ready’ on his social media channels:
