Wolves lost to Liverpool on Saturday – but there was another goal for Hwang Hee-chan.

Gary O’Neil’s side will be kicking themselves today, having been well placed to take points yesterday.

Wolves led 1-0 at half-time, having played outstandingly.

Wolves played on the front foot, and were first to every second ball.

But the level dropped off significantly in the second-half, and Wolves invited pressure.

Cody Gakpo equalised, and then Andy Robertson was gifted a goal after an awful kick from Jose Sa.

Harvey Elliott then had a strike that deflected in off Hugo Bueno.

It’s another defeat, but the encouraging thing for Wolves is that a number of players are in very good form right now…

Neto – who was excellent in the first-half – jinked his way through three players, before crossing low to the back post for Hwang.

It was an assured finish by the South Korean from a fairly tight angle.

That was Hwang’s third goal against the Reds in his career, across spells with Wolves and RB Salzburg.

And it was Hwang’s third of the season so far, meaning he has already equalled his tally from last season.

Hwang took to Instagram earlier today to mark his latest goal, and plenty of fans left comments.

The man who assisted him yesterday Neto also commented, saying ‘What a player’.

Hwang looking good

Hwang’s form is one of the biggest positives for Wolves at the moment.

The 27-year-old might well be in his best vein of form since when he first joined the club from RB Leipzig.

It’s good for Wolves that he is in the goals at the moment.

Currently, he has to be one of the first names on the teamsheet for O’Neil.

Not only does he offer a goal threat, but he works extremely hard for the team.
