A Wolves fan has gone viral today, after he gave a hilarious reaction when told that the Diego Costa deal was close.
The striker is on the verge of signing for the club on a free transfer after undergoing his medical today.
The 33-year-old flew into the UK last night after getting clearance following a work permit issue.
Costa was not initially granted one, but Wolves appealed the decision.
Today the player has been at the Nuffield Hospital in Wolverhampton doing tests.
While this was going on, Sky Sports interviewed a Wolves fan and his brilliant reaction to the news has now been shared far and wide on Twitter.
He said: “Diego Costa?? He hasn’t come here has he?”
The fan was then told that he was doing his medical, to which he replied: “I wasn’t aware. I saw something on Facebook but I just thought it was fake news! You know what I mean?
“That’s absolutely brilliant news, I thought the transfer window was over!”
Wanderers fans have generally been extremely shocked and excited about the Costa deal since the story first broke on Sunday evening.
There had been massive frustration at first following the news about Sasa Kalajdzic.
But just hours later there was a report about the interest in Costa, and fans have been glued to social media in anticipation ever since, waiting for updates.
It now looks as though the deal will go through, with the club ready to offer the player a one-year deal.
Supposedly, there will also be a renewal clause in his contract, meaning he could be with the club until 2024.
