Diego Costa is currently undergoing the first part of his medical ahead of his move to Wolves.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the 33-year-old is in England and is currently being assessed after being granted his work permit yesterday.
Wolves are swooping for the former Chelsea star, after new signing Sasa Kalajdzic suffered an ACL injury on his debut against Southampton.
Costa had initially failed to qualify for a permit.
Tests are now ongoing for Costa, who is reportedly at the Nuffield Health Wolverhampton Hospital.
The star has actually been spotted outside, with Twitter user @CharlieeeTeee96 uploading a short clip of the player.
According to Sky Sports reporter Danyal Khan, Costa will have the second part of his medical at Compton Park later today.
All being well, Costa will pass his medical and it is expected he will then sign a one-year deal with the club.
It would be a sensational move, with Costa having once lit up the Premier League with Chelsea.
The star reached a world-class level at Stamford Bridge and won several trophies, including two league titles.
Costa is no longer the player he was for the Blues. But he could make for a really shrewd addition by Wolves.
Arguably, there is no better option for Wanderers right now with the transfer window closed.
Diego Costa to Wolves is getting closer as star begins medical
Hopefully all goes well with Costa’s medical, and the club will soon be announcing him as a new Wolves player.
Given his lack of football of late, it would be incredibly surprising if he was involved against Liverpool on Saturday.
The Spain international is bound to be lacking match sharpness.
Wolves could well spring a surprise though. Costa has apparently being keeping himself ticking over in the gym.
