Wolves have released some new training footage ahead of this weekend’s game with Southampton, and Julen Lopetegui might have to consider playing Toti Gomes up front…
Wanderers go to the Premier League’s bottom club on Saturday in search of another three points.
Wolves have just beaten Liverpool 3-0 an confidence will be very high.
Southampton are in awful form at the moment and this week there have been reports about some of their players being unconvinced about manager Nathan Jones.
Wolves are favourites to win the game. But the players must approach the game with the right attitude. Lopetegui will certainly make sure that’s the case.
Wolves released a video today of a training session that took place this week.
It featured the club’s newest signing Joao Gomes in action, and Dan Bentley being impressively vocal in a small-sided game.
Toti Gomes scores brilliant goal in Wolves training and embarrasses Raul Jimenez
One other notable thing that happened in the video was an excellent bit of play by Toti.
(At 6.35) The centre-back collected the ball after it looped up into the air, killing it with his right foot.
Raul Jimenez quickly went to close him down, Toti feigned a pass before shifting the ball immediately to his left.
He then took a few paces forward before unleashing a great shot low and hard into the bottom corner past Bentley.
The goal led to praise and applause from coaches.
In the next clip, Toti went back to doing what he does on a more regular basis.
Jimenez, perhaps trying to atone for being beaten moments earlier, tried to get round Toti down the right side.
But the 24-year-old got nice and tight and nicked the ball away from him, with Jackson Smith then coming to claim.
Goalkeeper coach Tony Roberts could be heard shouting ‘Well done, Toti!’.
