Wolves have released some footage from a training session ahead of this weekend’s game with Bournemouth – and it features a fine triple save by Molineux number two Dan Bentley.
The players are on a high at the moment having won their last two Premier League games.
On Saturday, the team came from 1-0 down to beat Southampton 2-1 at St. Mary’s Stadium.
It was a superb result, considering Wanderers lost Mario Lemina when he was controversially sent off.
Prior to that, Wolves had their best result of the season; a 3-0 victory against Liverpool at Molineux.
Things are going well right now. But Julen Lopetegui will ensure that standards do not drop – it’s still very tight down at the bottom of the table.
On Saturday it’s Bournemouth, and a great opportunity to pull further clear of the relegation zone.
Wolves have today released new training footage, and there is an impressive intensity about everyone.
One of the best moments of the video (7:00) was Bentley’s triple save in a small-sided game.
The star first denied Raul Jimenez, and the ball was then semi-cleared before it came back. Joao Moutinho followed up with an effort which Bentley beat away.
Hugo Bueno then tried his luck, but his shot was blocked by Joao Gomes.
The ball finally came to Rayan Ait-Nouri, whose effort was tipped onto the post by the Molineux number two.
All this happened within the space of about 10 seconds, with Bentley showing razor-sharp reflexes to keep the ball out. All in all, it was a great triple save from the Englishman.
The new signing from Bristol City is certainly making an impression, despite having not yet played for Wolves.
Last week, he showcased his leadership qualities as he bellowed orders at his team in the same small-sided game.
New signing Dan Bentley looks really impressive in Wolves training, he’ll give Jose Sa a great push
This is the second week in a row where Bentley has done something impressive in Wolves training.
Of course, there will be plenty fans do not see.
But these clips really suggest that Bentley is a really good pickup by Wolves.
Not only is he already showing his leadership qualities and being nice and vocal. But he’s making some terrific saves.
He’s been speaking about really challenging number one Jose Sa. And the level he appears to be showing in training suggests he is backing that up.
