Sporting CP stars wish Pablo Sarabia well on Instagram after Wolves move

Pablo Sarabia is a new Wolves player, after sealing a move from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Spaniard has signed for Wanderers on a two-and-a-half year deal, and is ready to help the club move up the Premier League table.

Sarabia, who can play in many positions including out wide and behind a central striker, cost the club just £4.5 million.

The fee is similar to what Wolves paid AS Monaco to sign Joao Moutinho back in 2018. Wolves fans will be hoping that he turns out to be just as a good a bargain as the Portuguese maestro.

Sarabia comes to Wolves with a lot of experience under his belt.

At 30 years old, he has a long and established career behind him and he’s also got 26 caps for the Spanish national team.

Sarabia left PSG because he struggled for game time. Starting matches at the Parc des Princes is always going to be difficult for attacking players given there’s Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Last season that was not the case though for Sarabia, who was playing with Matheus Nunes at Sporting CP.

He was on a season-long loan there – and it was a really good spell for Sarabia. In 45 games he scored 21 goals and made 10 assists.

It is these kinds of numbers that Wolves officials hope to see replicated at Molineux.

Sarabia really thrived in Portugal.

Once it had been decided that he would return to PSG, manager Ruben Amorim was asked whether it was a disappointment not to have him continue a the club. He replied ‘undoubtedly’ (PSG Talk).

Sarabia made a major impression at Sporting, and it is no surprise that a couple of his former teammates were in the comments of his first Instagram post as a new Wolves player.

Pedro Goncalves, who left Molineux in the summer of 2019, commented ‘suerte crack’. ‘Suerte’ translates to ‘good luck’ and ‘crack’ is a football slang term for a special talent.

Pedro Porro also left four heart eyes emojis.

Potentially, Porro may soon be following Sarabia to the Premier League. Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked, with the player having a £40 million buy-out clause according to the Daily Mail.

Portuguese star Porro seems like he’d actually be a great signing for Wolves, who could do with a new and younger right-back. But a lot of money has already been spent on transfers this season and £40 million might be out of budget.
