Julen Lopetegui has insisted Pablo Sarabia will play a key role in helping guide Wolves away from a relegation battle.
The club confirmed the Spaniard’s signing yesterday ahead of the FA Cup third round replay with Liverpool.
Sarabia has becomes the third addition of the window for Wolves after Matheus Cunha and Mario Lemina.
Wolves have reportedly paid around £4.5 million for Sarabia, who was struggling for minutes at PSG.
He was in attendance at Molineux for last night’s game with Liverpool at Molineux, and was able to cast his eye over his new teammates.
Lopetegui spoke after the 1-0 defeat about his fellow countryman.
He said: “He’s going to be a good player, a good help for us, of course. In the next days he’s going to start working with us and we are happy with one player like this.
“He’s here because we believe in him and he’s going to be a player that I’m sure is going to help us to achieve our main aim, that is to be out of the relegation at the end of the Premier League. But now, we have to change our mind, to put the focus only in the Premier League and this is all.”
Wanderers are taking on Manchester City on Sunday.
And it’s likely Sarabia will make his debut at Molineux against Pep Guardiola’s side.
Wolves signing Pablo Sarabia for £4.5 million is brilliant business, as Lopetegui gives verdict
Wolves have done some really impressive business here.
Sarabia is a top player, so to get him for just £4.5 million is brilliant going.
Given his goals and assists numbers at his previous clubs, he should be able to help improve Wolves in the final third.
It would be good to see him playing as a number 10 ahead of Joao Moutinho. Or perhaps wide right so that he can cut in on his strong left foot.
