Some Wolves fans react as club drawn against Sheffield United in FA Cup

Some Wolves fans have been reacting to the news that the club have been drawn against Sheffield United in the third round of the FA Cup.

The draw was made last night, and Bruno Lage’s first-ever tie will be at Molineux against the Blades on either January 8th/9th.

Following the disappointment of going out of the Carabao Cup against Tottenham Hotspur back in September, fans will be hoping the team will fare better in this competition.

Wolves fans also have extra reason to feel strongly about the FA Cup this year.

Last term, the club crashed out in the fifth round at the hands of Southampton.

It was a really poor performance that day, and lots of fans were left raging as they felt it was a good chance to progress.

So Wolves kick off their FA Cup campaign this season by facing Sheffield United.

It is an intriguing tie, and one instantly thinks to the fact that the Blades have taken Morgan Gibbs-White for the season.

The midfielder has been in outstanding form at Bramall Lane, with fans raving over his latest display.

He would not be able to face his parent club in the game.

On social media, the reaction to the FA Cup draw with Sheffield United has been somewhat mixed.

Some don’t see it as a particularly glamorous tie.

Going further in the competition than in 2020/21 is surely something Lage would like to achieve.
