Yesterday was an extremely sore one for the Wolves first-team players – but Morgan Gibbs-White enjoyed a much better day for Sheffield United.

The midfielder was in action against Cardiff City, making his 15th appearance on loan for the Blades.

And it was another solid performance from the England U21 international.

The star was on target for his fifth Championship goal of the season at Bramall Lane.

He was on hand to strike to make it 1-1, after the Bluebirds had gone down to 10 men.

And what a goal it was from Gibbs-White, who picked the ball up on the left side and cut in before unleashing a curling effort into the far corner from around 20 yards.

United would then take the lead through Billy Sharp. David McGoldrick then added a third, before Mark McGuinness scored a consolation for Cardiff.

Gibbs-White provided assists for both Sharp and McGoldrick.

The 2-3 result takes Paul Heckingbottom’s side up to 10th in the table.

Yorkshire Live gave Gibbs-White a 9/10 for his display, and said of him: “Scored a gorgeous equaliser, curling home after cutting in from the left and then turned the game on its head with two assists in quick succession for Sharp and McGoldrick. Came alive in the second half and was excellent. Brought that extra bit of quality United needed today.”
