Former football club owner turned pundit Simon Jordan has not been Rob Edwards’ biggest fan, and that makes his latest comments about the Wolves manager surprising.
Wolves suffered yet another defeat at the weekend, losing 3-0 to Brighton.
What do you make of Rob Edwards’ comments about the players after Wolves’ defeat to Brighton? 👀
Refreshingly honest or uncalled for? 😬
Wanderers conceded two goals in the first five minutes of the contest and it was yet another horrible performance.
It was truly alarming to see zero urgency or care from so many, and it was insulting to the travelling fans.
After the game, Rob Edwards criticised his players, saying some needed to go this summer.
It was a marked change of tone from the head coach, that has drawn a mixed reaction from supporters. Some commended him for the remarks, but some feel he is just going into self-preservation mode amid another tough run of results that’s led to pressure mounting.
But Simon Jordan actually praised Edwards’ move.
Simon Jordan thinks Wolves players deserved scathing Rob Edwards verdict

Simon Jordan hammered Rob Edwards when he made the move to Wolves earlier this season.
He felt strongly about him walking out on Middlesbrough after being given an opportunity there by Steve Gibson.
He’s criticised him several times since – but on this particular situation, Jordan is actually Team Edwards.
He said on talkSPORT: “I don’t think there’s anything unfair in what he said.
“He players have been useless all season. Other managers have said it previously. I remember Martin O’Neill talking about some of the players that were in that dressing room, giving it Billy big licks in terms of ‘Well we’ve got to stand up’.
“I think one of them was Doherty – he was having none of him, Martin O’Neill, about what he says and what he doesn’t say and when it comes to saying it rather than doing it.
“They need clearing out. There’s players in there that haven’t been good enough all season, that have been blaming everyone else besides from themselves, and they’ve let the club down.”
Jordan verdict says it all, Wolves players have let fans down
For Jordan to actually take Edwards’ side here really does say it all.
The manager spent a number of players protecting the players but he simply could not have defended them after the shambles that was the Brighton defeat.
There was a clear lack of desire on Wolves’ part, and many of them had zero pride in their performance.
Should Rob Edwards still be Wolves’ manager for the start of 2026/27 season? 🤔
If not, let us know in the comments who the club should look to replace him with…
So Edwards’ remarks were warranted.
Some believe the manager was trying to preserve his own image.
But realistically, he’s here to stay and he knows it, and it was simply about saying it as it is in that moment.
