Ruud van Nistelrooy has left PSV Eindhoven with immediate affect, which could have significance for Wolves regarding Fabio Silva.
The legendary former striker has departed the Dutch giants with one game to go this season, in news that has really surprised people.
It had been a successful campaign so far for van Nistelrooy, who has delivered two trophies in the form of the Dutch Super Cup and the Dutch Cup.
He took charge of 51 games, winning 33, drawing 10 and losing eight. Under his guidance, PSV scored 126 goals and conceded 60.
Apparently, he held talks with the club hierarchy on Tuesday evening.
And today his departure was officially confirmed by the club.
The exact reasons for his exit are currently unknown.
But it’s a development that could have some significance for Wolves, because van Nistelrooy had been very vocal about keeping Silva.
Silva is on loan there, after joining them in January.
He spent the first half of the season with Anderlecht, before moving to the Netherlands.
van Nistelrooy had said publicly that he had hoped to keep Silva beyond the current season. He had suggested that PSV were going to contact Wolves about the possibility of extending his loan.
