‘On another level’: Fabio Silva and others react to what £7m Wolves star did yesterday

Wolves are off the mark in the Premier League, beating Everton 1-0 yesterday at Goodison Park.

Just like last season, Wanderers scored a late goal to record a very important victory.

It was Sasa Kalajdzic who grabbed the all important goal, rising high to glance in Pedro Neto’s cross.

It was an amazing moment for Kalajdzic, who cruelly suffered an ACL injury on his debut last season, causing him to miss the rest of the campaign.

He has obviously been coming in for lots of plaudits since the game ended.

But someone else who is really getting a lot of praise is Jose Sa, who made a string of saves yesterday to keep Everton at bay.

And there was one save in particular that was really got people talking…

On 67 minutes, Sa made arguably the save of the season in the Premier League so far.

Nathan Patterson crossed the ball towards the back post where Abdoulaye Doucoure was waiting for a header.

The Frenchman connected with a diving header, sending the ball back towards the far corner.

Despite being wrong-foote, Sa somehow tipped the ball over the crossbar with a flailing arm.

It was a truly outstanding save, and one that ultimately helped Wolves go on to win the game.

And it was something that left an impression on several of his Wolves teammates, both past and present.

Sa uploaded a picture on Instagram with the message ‘Together until the end. Believe and support always. Positive vibes’.

A number of players commented, including Fabio Silva who wrote ‘On another level’, and Pedro Neto and Nelson Semedo, who both wrote ‘Amazing’.

Unreal save from Sa

This was an incredible piece of goalkeeping from £7 million signing Sa.

It looked for all the world as though Doucoure would score looking where the ball was travelling in relation to Sa’s body.

But he somehow kept it out, and that save could honestly prove crucial in the long-term for Wolves.

It is great to see Sa putting in such an influential performance.

He has had his critics in 2023.

He may struggle with playing out from the back, but yesterday he reminded people what a great stopper he can be.
