Pedro Lima started for the first time for Wolves against Tottenham Hotspur – and the Brazilian left a lasting impression on Dave Edwards.
Wanderers lost 1-0 at Molineux, with Spurs recording their first win of 2026.
Joao Palhinha scored the only goal of the game, meaning he has now bagged in both Premier League games between these two sides this season.
Thoughts on that display, Wolves fans? 🙄
Rob Edwards and the players were greeted by boos from the South Bank after the full-time whistle…
Wolves produced a poor performance in the first-half.
There was marginal improvement in the second, but Wolves ultimately didn’t have the quality to get a result.
After the game, there was an uncomfortable moment for Rob Edwards and the players as they were booed by the South Bank.
So, another poor day at the office.
But Dave Edwards did like the look of Pedro Lima.
Dave Edwards wants Pedro Lima to stay in Wolves’ starting XI
Lima was handed a start by Rob Edwards for the first time, with Jackson Tchatchoua dropping to the bench.
There had been calls for Lima to start given the poor form of Tchatchoua, so many fans were pleased to see him finally get a chance.
Lima didn’t do too badly in the game, and made a fairly respectable seven defensive contributions. He also put in five crosses.

And now, Dave Edwards has called for Rob Edwards to start him in Wolves’ four remaining games this season to help prepare him for next term.
He said (via E&S): “I was happy to see Pedro Lima get his start against Spurs as well.
“He was a little bit safe in the first-half but grew into the game and did well in the second half.
“I’d like to see him continue to play in these final games, to expose him at this level, because he could be a really big player for us next year.
“His crossing ability has always been brilliant. His defensive duties were always going to be an issue, but I thought he looked decent and I’m looking forward to seeing a bit more of him.”
Regular minutes for Lima paramount
Lima should absolutely be kept in the starting XI going forward.
The preparations are already underway for next season, and the final four games offer Lima a good opportunity to get used to the English game.
He may well end up leaving. But on the off chance that he doesn’t, then it’s important that he heads into next season having had a taste of the Premier League, so he has a chance to shine in the Championship.

Wolves would actually like Lima to stay, with a report suggesting he’s one of nine players on their list of potential keeps.
Tchatchoua has continually failed to impress in a Wolves shirt and should no longer start.
That particular signing just has not worked out and Wolves now need to move him on.
