Traore was in a great moment just before the tournament. He had just hit the winner against Leeds United in the Carabao Cup.

But he suffered an injury out in Marbella, and has since had a couple of setbacks.

Traore was pictured in training last week, suggesting that his return was close.

And now, Lopetegui has confirmed that is indeed the case. He has hinted he could well be ready for Saturday’s huge game with Nottingham Forest.

He said (Express & Star): “Boubacar Traore is very close to being ready. He’s 90 percent normal.

“He will be ready (after international break) to compete with the rest of the players.

“Bouba is a very competitive midfielder.

“He’s a fighter and has a big energy. He will be a good player for us.”

Since Traore last appeared for Wolves, a couple of players in his position have come into the club.

Mario Lemina and Joao Gomes both arrived in January to increase the depth.

Lemina has been an outstanding signing so far. Gomes has only made a few appearances up to now, but looks to have great potential.

Traore will undoubtedly be raring to go, and make an impression on Lopetegui.

A big boost for Wolves with Boubacar Traore ready to return from injury

This is brilliant news for Wolves, and hopefully Traore is able to steer clear of any more setbacks.

It will have bene a frustrating past few months for him.

He was improving by the game just before the World Cup. he would have been itching to impress Lopetegui when he first came in.

But he’s been forced into the sidelines, and he now has work to do to get back to the level he was.

Hopefully he can make a big impact for Wolves in the next 10 games.
