Jurgen Klopp has been talking up Wolves ahead of tonight’s clash with Liverpool, and in particular the squad depth Julen Lopetegui has at his disposal.
Wolves and Liverpool are facing off at Anfield this evening, in what is the fourth meeting between the clubs since the turn of the year.
Wolves have given the Reds three great fights so far this term.
The last meeting saw Wanderers run out 3-0 winners.
Lopetegui will be hoping for a repeat of the performance at Molineux. But Liverpool have been slightly better in the league in the last few weeks.
They haven’t conceded a goal in any of their last three games, winning two and drawing one.
They’re looking to get back into top four contention. But Wolves are desperate to pull away from the relegation zone.
It should be another great contest, and Klopp is full of admiration for his opponents this evening.
The German gave his verdict about Wolves, and clearly feels Lopetegui has some very good options at his disposal.
He said: “It’s just a good team. When we played them and you saw who they could bring on during the game and you think, ‘Oh, OK.’ Diego Costa didn’t start now that much and in our last game came on. They can start with Traore or bring Traore [on], they can start with Hwang or bring Hwang [on].
“They have Sarabia, they have Jimenez still. That’s just the offensive part and in midfield Neves, Nunes and whoever will play there. Whichever system they will play, it is a really good side. That’s why it will be tricky. But again, I’m really looking forward to the game.”
Julen Lopetegui now has a fantastic squad at Wolves as Klopp suggests, and there are still players to come back
Lopetegui does indeed have a really good pool of players at Molineux now.
The club did some fantastic deals in January. And it is now about bringing everything together.
What’s exciting is that there are still players to come back into the fold.
Boubacar Traore and Pedro Neto both haven’t yet featured under the new manager.
And then later down the line Chiquinho will return. Hopefully before the end of the current season, as he is now back in light training.
It is this depth that could ultimately be huge for Wolves in their push for survival.
