Julen Lopetegui is said to be keen to stay at Wolves, but wants financial guarantees heading to the summer.
Wanderers fans have been rocked in the last couple of days by claims the club have concerns over FFP.
Wolves’ spending in the last two windows means the club is now at a point where it needs to raise funds to balance the books.
Wanderers have shelled out almost £200 million this season.
Apparently, there is a danger for Wolves of breaking FFP rules.
So in order to get things back in order, player sales will be required this summer.
And it has been suggested that Lopetegui would not be getting as big a transfer budget as he would like.
MARCA have today reported on the situation, and provide some information regarding how Lopetegui is feeling about things at Molineux at the moment.
They report that whilst there is uncertainty right now, Lopetegui is happy at the club. And he is said to see ‘possibilities for development’.
That said, Lopetegui is concerned that if quality reinforcements do not arrive in the next window, then he feels next season could be ‘very complicated’.
Daz Hale of BBC Radio West Midlands claimed earlier today that a lengthy meeting between Lopetegui, chairman Jeff Shi & sporting director Matt Hobbs took place yesterday evening at Compton.
An encouraging claim from Marca about Julen Lopetegui’s current feeling about Wolves
Between this from Marca and the tweet from Alex Crook, and the suggestion from The Telegraph that there’s been no falling out with Lopetegui, it seems that things are OK for now.
But the situation is a concern.
Lopetegui has already been talking publicly about the need for reinforcements.
If Molineux officials cannot deliver them for him, then it might be that he just jumps ship once the window closes.
It already seems as though Wolves officials didn’t make him aware of potential FFP complications.
So if they do not do business this summer which satisfies him, then he could very easily take his leave.
