Hugo Bueno has today checked in with Wolves fans on Instagram, after he was forced off injured against Liverpool.
Bueno had to be replaced midway through the first-half after pulling up clutching his hamstring.
The Spaniard got into a footrace with Mo Salah, and then had a few minutes of treatment on the pitch.
It was determined fairly quickly that he could not continue. Rayan Ait-Nouri replaced him, and the Algerian now potentially has a big chance to get back in favour at Molineux.
It is a big blow for Wolves.
Bueno has been a revelation for Wanderers since breaking through to the first-team in October.
The youngster seized his chance and has been a regular starter in the last few months.
Julen Lopetegui is a big fan of his fellow countryman, which has meant Ait-Nouri has had to be patient.
But it looks as though he will now be set for a spell on the sidelines.
Hugo Bueno posts on Instagram after leaving Anfield pitch injured
This afternoon, Bueno posted on Instagram just to check in with supporters.
He has not provided an update on his condition though, instead ensuring fans he’ll endeavour to return as quickly as possible. He wrote: “Never Lose Faith. I will keep working hard to be able to help the team again as soon as possible. Thanks to all the fans for the amazing support.”
Julen Lopetegui is due to speak to the media tomorrow ahead of Wolves’ game with Tottenham Hotspur.
It is possible he could provide an update on Bueno there.
Ideally, he will not be out for too long and he can be back competing with Ait-Nouri for that left-back spot.
