Wolves striker Fabio Silva was in action for the Portugal U21s last night, and it wasn’t the best of evenings for the teenager.
The star was starting against Cyprus, in the nation’s latest Euro 2023 qualifying match.

He started up top with Goncalo Ramos, and was no doubt hoping for an impactful display.
Minutes have been hard to come by for Silva back at Molineux this season.
Bruno Lage has turned to Raul Jimenez at almost every turn.
So this international break was a chance for Silva to get some minutes into his legs and gain confidence.
But last night was rather one to forget for Silva, unfortunately.

Portugal would run out comprehensive 6-0 winners, but Silva did not get on the scoresheet.
He had a good chance to in the first-half, but he saw his tamed penalty saved.
PortuGOAL.net noted that Silva was outshone by his strike partner Ramos, who bagged a hat-trick.
He then had a shot from a tight angle that was saved. In the second-half, he drew the foul which led to Fabio Vieira scoring from a free-kick.
He made way on 62 minutes.
Fabio Silva must soon prove worth for Wolves after latest underwhelming outing for Portugal U21s
It has not been a fruitful season so far for Silva.
He isn’t playing much for the Wolves first-team, and has been struggling to make an impact for his country and the Wolves U23s.

Hopefully, he can come good soon. It’s just about where those minutes are going to come from. There are some hard games coming up for the club over Christmas.
Lage doesn’t really seem to trust him all that much right now, and one wonders whether he could do with a loan move.
