Wolverhampton Wanderers newbie Francisco Trincao is very much looking forward to life in the Black Country.

The youngster recently signed on a season-long loan from Barcelona, and some people are still trying to process the move.

Trincao is a player with a huge ceiling, and is definitely a coup for Wolves.

Supposedly, there is an option to buy him next year for around £25 million.

That could end up looking very cheap if he lives up to the hype.

Some fans are particularly looking forward to watching him play in the same team as Pedro Neto.

Trincao and Neto both played for SC Vianense as kids, and then SC Braga as teenagers.

Neto said a few days ago that he was excited by Trincao’s signing, and described his friend as someone with a good mentality, and someone good in one-vs-one situations.

The feeling is mutual for Trincao, who says of playing with Neto: “I’m really excited, I want to thank him for the words that he said the last day to me, I’m really excited to play with him too and to play with everyone, all my friends, and to get to know them, because I know the Portuguese players, but the other ones no, so I’m really excited.”

Trincao and Neto link-up could be brilliant

£16 million star Neto (The Athletic) is set to miss the start of the new season, but his return is already highly anticipated – especially now that Trincao has joined.

The pair are both huge talents, but the fact they are good friends could see them link up very well on the pitch. There is, hopefully, already a good understanding there.

Trincao also adds in his interview that he intends to give fans a reason to buy a ticket.

That would suggest he is as much ready to entertain as he is score goals and make assists.

There were some games that were just painful to watch last season. So a regular sprinkling of magic from Trincao and Neto in 2021/22 would be most welcome.
