Dave Edwards has said Joao Moutinho is the best player Wolves have ever had at the club in his lifetime.
The maestro has brought his five-year spell at Molineux to an end, and will now begin his search for a new team.

Wolves announced last Friday that he would be leaving. Diego Costa is also departing, but the club are still trying to agree an extension for Adama Traore.
Moutinho became a bit-part player for Wolves in the second half of the season just gone.
He featured a lot under Bruno Lage. But Julen Lopetegui used him much more sparingly, which was perhaps always going to be the case after Mario Lemina and Joao Gomes were brought in.
Moutinho leaves Wolves having made a huge impact since his transfer for around £5 million back in 2018.
He was sensational in his first two years at the club, and helped Wolves to back-to-back seventh place finishes.
Wolves fans have been treated to some amazing football from him and Ruben Neves in the midfield.
For many, the Portuguese pair are the best players to ever wear the Wolves shirt.

In the eyes of Edwards though, Moutinho just about edges Neves in that particular conversation.
He said (via Express & Star): “As good as Ruben Neves has been in recent years, I think Joao Moutinho is the best player I’ve seen play for Wolves in my lifetime. What a fantastic footballer – he oozes quality and class.
“All Wolves fans will admit how lucky we are to have had him for this period of time, and see him for some good years of his life.
“What a servant to Wolves and what a player. I’ve been lucky enough to meet him on a few occasions and what a real down to earth, humble bloke, who genuinely thinks the world of his time at Wolves. He absolutely loves the fans.”
Joao Moutinho will be missed at Wolves – he was a joy to watch
This is a big claim from Edwards, that a few Wolves fans will perhaps agree with. Some would argue maybe Steve Bull or Neves have been better.
But Moutinho is certainly right up there if he isn’t number one.
He has been an utter joy to watch at times in old gold, especially during his first two seasons.

He made the game look easy at times, and he had major impact on those around him – especially Neves who may not be the player he is today without his fellow countryman. Indeed, Neves actually said that in his goodbye message to Moutinho on Instagram.
Wolves fans now await news on where Moutinho will head next.
