Wolves drew 1-1 with Fulham on Friday night, in what was a decent result for the club against an in-form side – and pundit Danny Murphy has given his verdict about their survival hopes.
Julen Lopetegui’s men came away with a point at Craven Cottage.
It was a great first-half from the visitors, who showed more attacking intent than Fulha,
Pablo Sarabia opened the scoring with his first goal for the club since joining in January.
He collected a knock down from Raul Jimenez, finishing well into the far corner.
Unfortunately Wolves couldn’t maintain the same level in the second-half, and Fulham got back on level terms through Manor Solomon.
The star cut inside and unleashing an unstoppable effort into the far corner.
While it was disappointing to drop points from a winning position, Wolves could easily have lost the contest late on.
Jose Sa did make a fine save from a Carlos Vinicius header.
So Lopetegui will be fairly pleased with a point. But there are now some tough games coming up.
With West Ham United and Leeds United both winning their games this weekend, it’s all very tight down at the bottom.
Currently, Wolves are three points above the relegation zone, but pundit Danny Murphy believes the club will be safe come the end of the season.
The former Fulham man said on Match of the Day last night: “They look better in terms of creativity and end product, they’ve signed some good players in January. I think they’ll be absolutely fine.”
Wolves just need to ensure the application is right and the fight is there, as Danny Murphy predicts club will survive
All Wolves need to do in the coming months is to make sure they fight.
It is all heading in the right direction under a top quality manager, and there are some fantastic players in that squad.
The manager simply needs every single one of his players to run through brick walls for him.
That desire and determination should see them through, because the quality and the tactics are there.
At this point, it’s about being desperate to survive more than the other clubs down at the bottom.
