Chiquinho may be back in full training at Wolves as Raul Jimenez posts on Instagram

Wolves winger Chiquinho appears to be back in full training, having been pictured with his teammates at Compton Park.

The youngster has not featured this season, having been recovering from a serious knee injury he picked last year.

Chiquinho sustained knee ligament damage in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Burnley back in July.

The £3 million signing from Estoril has been working extremely hard to get back fit so he can potentially play again before the end of the season.

Julen Lopetegui did include him in his update Premier League squad after the January transfer window, suggesting there was hope he might be able to.

Chiquinho was one of Wolves’ best performers towards the end of last season.

He really impressed with his electric pace and dribbling, with his performance against Chelsea – against whom he got two assists – particularly memorable.

Chiquinho suffering that bad injury was a major shame.

Many Wolves fans were extremely excited to see him in action in 2022/23.

The star recently started doing light training again at Compton Park.

And it looks as though he might have taken the next step. Yesterday on Instagram, striker Raul Jimenez uploaded a photo to his Story showing him and several teammates posing after presumably winning a small-sided game.

Chiquinho is pictured with Jimenez, Joe Hodge, Daniel Podence, Adama Traore and Hwang Hee-chan.

This is good to see, and hopefully it means Chiquinho is getting closer to a return for Wolves.

It must have been so frustrating for him to have suffered that injury. He was brilliant in those final games for Wolves last season and fans were really excited about his potential.

Of course, this photo uploaded by Jimenez may not be a suggestion of anything.

But the players do tend to upload such photos when they have played small-sided games. So if Chiquinho can be seen, it would suggest he has been participating.

Wolves have just six games remaining this season, so it is a race against time for Chiquinho to get any minutes.

One would imagine coaches will want him turning out for the U21s before he returns for the first-team.
