Dave Edwards is the latest person to hail Pedro Neto after the winger’s fine display against Liverpool for Wolves.

Wolves crashed to another defeat in the Premier League on Saturday.

But the 3-1 loss was hard to take because of how Wolves dominated in the first-half.

Wanderers were superior in all departments to their opponents in the first-half.

But they just couldn’t pull far enough ahead, and Liverpool were able to come from behind to win.

But one man who is coming in for praise left, right and centre is Neto, with Edwards now lauding the 23-year-old…

He jinked his way through three players before crossing low and hard to the South Korean coming in at the back post.

Sadly, Neto was not as effective in the second-half. But he didn’t receive much service, with Wolves frustratingly allowing Liverpool to attack more.

Edwards said of Neto (Express & Star): “But the biggest plus was the continued form of Pedro Neto. He’s been a breath of fresh air.

“He was giving Joe Gomez an absolutely torrid time down that flank and was incredible for the goal. He also set up Matheus Cunha, who should score and put Wolves 2-0 up.

“When you have a fit and firing Neto, he will be the difference for Wolves in games this season.

“Thankfully it looks like he’s over the injury worries. He looks sharp, productive and he’s playing with freedom.

Pedro Neto looks back to somewhere near his best for Wolves

Wolves fans are hugely encouraged by Neto’s start to the new season.

Last term, the £50,000-a-week star was really disappointing for Wanderers in the opening games, after a bright season.

This time around, he looks bang at it.

He is more assured in what he is doing, and more often than not choosing the right option in the decision moments.

It hasn’t really happened for Wolves as a collective yet. But Neto’s form is a major positive and hopefully that will continue for as long as possible.
