The future of Wolves winger Adama Traore still remains unclear.

The Spain international is due back at Compton Park, after spending the second half of last season on loan at Barcelona.

The star went back to the Nou Camp following a struggle for minutes at Molineux.

But nothing really changed much for him, with Xavi mainly using him from the bench.

Traore started off well, but quickly found himself a bit-part player for the Spanish giants.

The move was ultimately a failure, with Barcelona reportedly reluctant to trigger the option to buy clause that was negotiated.

With Traore unwilling to sign a new contract at Wolves, the club are expected to sell him this summer since he only has a year left on his existing deal.

Recently, the player was again linked with a move to Leeds United. The Whites are set to lose Raphinha and will need to replace him.

It will be interesting to see where he ends up, but his future is seemingly on Traore’s mind given an Instagram Story post he made last night.

Traore shared a compilation video of his time at Barcelona, along with the caption ‘I am coming’.

It’s unlikely that he means he is coming back to Barcelona, given everything that has been written about their financial position.

The only way that could happen, realistically, is if Wolves were open to a swap deal involving Francisco Trincao. But there have been reports that Wolves don’t want to sign him permanently.

Perhaps it is simply a message of defiance from the 25-year-old that 2022/23 will be his time.

Adama Traore needs selling as soon as possible, as Wolves winger makes cryptic Instagram post

Wolves must endeavor to offload Traore as quickly as possible.

The indications have been that the club need to sell players if they are to bring new ones in. And since Traore won’t sign a new contract, it makes sense to do that now before his value plummets.

There may not be anything in his Instagram Story post.

It might simply be his way of telling people that he’ll be better in 2022/23, regardless of where he is playing his football.

But the timing is certainly interesting given the claims about Leeds’ interest.
